Author Biography
Adam Kirkman is the winner of the prestigious Outstanding Management Material Award 2004, presented at Office World's North-Eastern regional conference held at the Travel Lodge just off the A63 on the way to Hull. This is particularly impressive as he has never worked for Office World.
Daniel Mayhew held a succession of low-level jobs for several years (he has a wonderful collection of hairnets and nametags) until he was discovered serving fries to American business guru Rusty Knackers. Spotting this man's management potential, Rusty immediately offered him a lower-middle management position, and has since tutored him for several years. Daniel has an unimaginable wealth of management experience, and is now a fully-fledged middle manager.
Both Adam Kirkman and Daniel Mayhew are Tottenham Hotspurs fans. This means they have a great deal of experience relevant to How Not To Manage. Both are renowned management experts and previously published authors. This is their first collaboration together.

"This powerful volume is a breakthrough in management literature. Of course, there are many other management manuals, but what sets this apart is its tailoring of the subject matter to the very managers who need it. Other management books include a bewildering array of techniques that the modern manager can employ. But these techniques invariably require a level of commitment and intellect that many managers simply do not possess. The importance of this point is illustrated by recent research which indicated that the average IQ of managers in the United Kingdom is 43."
- from Rusty Sachs' introduction
How Not To Manage provides the modern manager with excellent tips, tools and strategies to make themselves an incredible manager. This wonderful guide focuses on How To Improve YOU, How To Improve Office Life, and How To Improve Staff.
The book includes tips on How To Talk Authoritatively About Anything ("Talk loudly,"), How To Speak Managementese ("Remember, the less people that understand it, the more important you'll think you are,") and How To Deal With Employee Disabilities ("Run. Just run. But not in a way which suggests you do not value their ability to not be able to run.")
How Not To Manage reveals just how the mind of the modern manager works, revealing once and for all how an otherwise rational human being can make so many missteps when dealing with people. And situations. And just about everything else.
